Industrial Ventilation Solutions Ensure Healthy Air Quality
Ventilation is an important part of any industrial HVAC system and helps ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. Placing fans at strategic points inside a building may not be enough to provide adequate ventilation for the workforce, especially if we oversee a factory or warehouse facility, or are around chemicals and other contaminants.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration links poor air quality to symptoms that can include everything from headaches and fatigue to eye, nose, throat and even lung irritation. Asthma is one health condition OSHA links to damp indoor environments, and exposure to materials such as asbestos or radon gas can lead to cancer. Poor ventilation is one factor that can affect indoor air quality.

Causes of Poor Air Quality
OSHA cites internal cases that identify the top three causes of poor indoor air quality. Those causes are 1.inadequate ventilation 2.contamination that comes from a source inside the building 3. contamination that occurs outside the building.To help maintain a safe indoor environment, OSHA recommends routine and proper maintenance of the facility’s HVAC system. Additional methods of containing contaminants include ensuring adequate ventilation during and after room renovations, as well as regular cleaning of indoor spaces and safe storage of chemicals and cleaning solutions.

In the workplace lighting has to meet occupational health and safety requirements. What has to be taken into consideration when it comes to office lighting is not just the aesthetics of how the lighting is incorporated into the building but the impact it has on the workers and in turn the business.

Another extremely important factor of good lighting is two illnesses called Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) and Seasonal Affective Disorder, both of which can be caused by poor lighting. They can cause people to become extremely lethargic, irritable and generally lack energy, which is very disruptive in the workplace. Both illnesses can and often lead to depression, which can in turn lead to long periods of time where the affected are unable to work.
Planning the right choice of workplace lighting depends on what area of business the building is being used for.
